Create a page without code

Build a one-page website for your business by filling in a form. No HTML, no code.

Create a page without code

You can build a one-page website by filling in a form: your business name, a short text, your services, opening hours, contact details, a photo, and a colour scheme. YWT turns the form into a finished page. You never see HTML.

A page made this way is an ordinary site. You preview it, share it, publish it, connect your domain, and see its visitors the same way as any other site.

Start a page

Create a site

Go to Website hosting and click Create New Website. Enter a name and a subdomain, then click Create Site. See Create a site for details.

Open the Edit tab

Click Edit your page on the site's Overview, or open the Edit tab. While the site is empty, it shows the ways to start.

Click "Create a page"

Create a page is the first option ("Fill in a form. No code."). Click it. YWT opens the form, with the business name set to your site's name, and shows a preview of the page next to it.

The other ways to start, such as templates and file uploads, are under Advanced. They are for people who want to work with code. See Create a site.

Fill in the form

Only the business name is required. Leave out what you do not need; empty fields do not appear on the page.

FieldWhat it is
NameThe name at the top of the page. Up to 60 characters.
TaglineA short line below the name. Up to 120 characters.
AboutA few sentences about you or your business. Up to 1,000 characters.
ServicesUp to six services, each up to 60 characters.
Opening hoursFree text, for example "Mon–Fri 8:00–18:00, Sat 9:00–13:00". Up to 300 characters.
PhoneShown as a link visitors can tap to call. Up to 40 characters.
EmailShown as a link that opens the visitor's email program.
AddressYour street address. Up to 200 characters.

Photo

You can add one photo. It appears at the top of the page, next to your name.

  • Formats: JPEG, PNG, or WebP.
  • Maximum size: 2 MB.

To use a different photo, upload a new one. You can also remove the photo.

Colour scheme

Choose one of four colour schemes: Light, Dark, Warm, or Cool. The scheme sets the colours of the whole page. You can change it at any time.

Preview as you type

The preview next to the form shows the page as you type. It updates after each change, so you can try a colour scheme or a longer text and see the result at once. The page also adapts to phone screens.

The Preview button opens your saved draft in a new browser tab, as for any site. Save first to see your latest changes there (Publish saves for you). See Previews.

Save and Publish

  • Save stores your changes as a draft. Visitors do not see the draft.
  • Publish saves any unsaved changes first, then puts the draft online, at the site's *.ywt.app address and any domain you connected. Every publish creates a new version.

After the page is online, changes you save stay in the draft until you click Publish again.

If you leave the Edit tab with unsaved changes, YWT asks you first.

On the Free plan

On the Free plan you can build the whole page and share it. Share draft creates a link that works for 1, 7, or 30 days, so you can show the page to someone before you pay. See Share a draft.

Clicking Publish on the Free plan opens the hosting plans. To put the page online, choose a paid plan. See Static hosting plans and billing.

What you can do

Everything that works for other sites works for a page made from the form:

  • Preview and Share draft on the Edit tab.
  • Download files, to keep a copy of the page.
  • History and Restore this version, to go back to an earlier version. See Deploy your site.
  • Domains, to connect your own domain. See Custom domains.
  • Analytics, to see your visitors. See Hosting analytics.

The site is marked with a Page badge in your list of websites.

Restore this version changes what visitors see, but not the form. The form keeps your latest saved content, and your next Publish puts that content online again.

What you cannot do

  • You cannot edit the page's files as code. The form is the only way to change the page.
  • You cannot upload files to it, apart from the photo.
  • Edit a copy of this version is not offered on its versions.
  • You cannot switch the site to code.

If you want to work with code

You cannot turn a page made from the form into a code site. Start another site instead:

  1. On the page's Edit tab, click Download files if you want to keep its HTML as a starting point.
  2. Create a new site.
  3. On its Edit tab, open Advanced and choose how to start, for example Upload Zip with the file you downloaded.

The new site counts toward your plan's site limit. If you have no room for another site, delete the old one first or change your plan. See Platform limits.
